Scientific name: Bothrops neuwiedi

Biology

As Bothrops, it´s behavior is very agressive and they have a venomous and dangerous bite.

Reproduction
Bothrops neuwiedi pauloensis exhibits low fecundity compared to other congeners (e.g., Bothrops jararaca, Bothrops moojeni, Bothrops jararacussu.

This is probably a consequence of the relatively small body size attained by snakes in the neuwiedi complex, because there is a strong, positive correlation between fecundity and body size in snakes (Seigel and Fitch, 1984).

Reproduction is highly seasonal, with a long vitellogenic period
Embryos appear only from October to December (rainy season)
